  • 10am -Welcome and Cruise Briefing at the CRYC Club House (NSW Day Light Saving Time) 
  • Cruise downriver to the Ulmarra Pub for lunch at 12.30pm. 
  • Walk around Ulmarra either before or after lunch. 
  • Continue downriver to Brushgrove situated on the southern end of Woodford Island and meet at the Brushy Pub for dinner at 6.00pm. 
  • Overnight at Brushgrove (Pub accommodation available if required – 02 66 476201 
  • Showers are also available for a small fee at the pub. Tuesday 15th October 
  • 9.30am – Walk around Cowper and Brushgrove 
  • Cruise to the village of Lawrence and meet at the Lawrence Tavern for lunch at 12.30pm 
  • Lawrence Historical Museum Tour – 2.30pm 
  • Meet at Munro Island for a beach BBQ provided by the CRYC. BYO Drinks, nibblies and chairs. Wednesday 16th October 
  • Cruise down river for lunch at the Harwood Pub at 12 noon. 
  • Supplies can be picked up on the way at Maclean, if required. 
  • Harwood Bridge opening 2.00pm 
  • Cruise to the seaside village of Iluka with dinner at the Sedgers Reef Hotel at 6pm 
  • Overnight at Iluka – various accommodation options are available. 
  • Showers are available at Iluka Clarence Head Caravan Park Thursday 17th October 
  • All day to visit the surrounding area – This may include rainforest walks, an island tour or a visit to Yamba for lunch at one of the many first rate eateries. Friday 19th October 
  • Classic Cruise Race – Day 1 - Iluka to Harwood – Briefing 9am 
  • Bridge Opening – 2.00pm 
  • Overnight at Maclean. BYO BBQ/Takeaway in the Park above the Jetties 
  • Various accommodation options are available at Maclean Saturday 20th October 
  • Classic Cruise Race – Day 2 – Maclean to Grafton – Briefing - 11am 
  • Divisions 1 Start - 11.30am 
  • Division 2 Start- 1.00pm 
  • (If boats are not racing they can leave at any time) 
  • Dinner is provided by CRYC on Presentation night at the CRYC Club House- Grafton 

Racing is definitely not compulsory. Many yachts choose to cruise back to Grafton at their own pace. 

Free Secure Parking for your car and trailer is available the week of, and one week either side of the Classic Cruise. (Parking is also available for longer storage periods at a low cost)

Clarence River Classic Yacht Race 2019

The Clarence River Yacht Club invites you to join us in the 11th Classic Marathon Race. 

The race will be run held over two days. 

Day 1 Iluka to Harwood 

Day 2 Maclean to Grafton. 

Programme: Day 1 Registration and Briefing 09.00am Race Start 10.30am 

Day 2 Registration and Briefing 11.00am Race Start – Division 1 11.30am Race Start – Division 2 01.00pm 

Please Note: Race Start times may change depending on conditions. 

Divisions: The event is open to Keel, Trailable and Multihull Yachts (with accommodation). 

Rules: The event will be governed by the current rules as defined in the ISAF Racing Rules, the special regulations of the YA, the rules of the Keel, Trailable and Multihull Yachts (except if any of these are altered by the sailing instructions), and the sailing instructions. Yamba Port is an International Port All International Port rules apply for any vessels travelling down river from the Harwood Bridge. All participating boats shall have minimum $10 million Public Liability.

Risk and Indemnity Agreement 

Duty of Liability: I acknowledge that competitors participate in this event entirely at their own risk. See ISAF Rule 4, Decision to Participate/Race. The organising authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the cruise/race. I acknowledge that sailing can be a dangerous sport and all those taking parting the event do so at their own risk and responsibility. 

Declaration: I agree to indemnify all officers or agents of the Clarence River Yacht Club Inc. and any other committee associated with this Event. I agree to be bound by the ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing, the prescriptions and special regulations of the YA (except as any of these are altered by the sailing instructions) and by the sailing instructions, and in consideration for my entry in this event. 

Safety Equipment: My boat complies with YA Safety Regulations Category 5 for races with limited rescue availability in enclosed waters. I agree the Clarence River Yacht Club Inc. is not responsible for the seaworthiness of a yacht whose entry is accepted or the sufficiency or adequacy of its equipment. 

Insurance: Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third party liability insurance and a minimum cover of $10,000,000 per event or equivalent. 

Non Members - Guest Membership: For the duration of this event, you are deemed a Guest Member of the Clarence River Yacht Club. 

This Risk and Indemnity Agreement is binding upon all persons participating in the event who do not sign this document but will be reasonably be considered to become aware of the document and its meaning by receipt of or access to the event information on the CRYC website or at the event.
